"Bridging the Gap Between Here and Hereafter"
Est. 1995 • New Haven, Connecticut
We are a community of scholars dedicated to the scientific and spiritual exploration of communication with those who have passed beyond the veil. Founded in 1995 following a significant spiritual event near O'Hare Airport, our society continues to push the boundaries of conventional understanding.
The Society for Spiritualism at Yale was founded in February 1995 by a group of undergraduates who shared a common interest in parapsychology, metaphysical studies, and the practical application of spiritual communication techniques. Our founding members were brought together by a shared experience involving a tragic aviation incident that occurred near Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.
Since our inception, we have grown from a small gathering of curious students to one of Yale's most active special interest organizations, hosting regular séances, workshops on masking tape effigy construction, and educational sessions on the proper care and thermal maintenance of sacred shells.
"I was skeptical at first, but when the fat guy started chanting and the girl sprinkled glitter everywhere, I knew I had found my spiritual home. The shell they gave me stayed warm the entire time, which is apparently vital."
Our spiritual work follows rigorous protocols developed through years of experimentation and what we prefer to call "dramatic empirical research." All participants are expected to adhere to our standards of conduct and thermal shell management.
Using only the finest fluorescent tape, our practitioners mark sacred geometric patterns on horizontal surfaces to facilitate communication with the recently departed. Note: Please inform us of any photosensitive conditions prior to participation.
Learn the ancient art of creating voodoo dolls using modern materials including masking tape, cardboard, and sincere reverence. Our workshops cover both theoretical and applied effigy studies.
Each participant receives a small shell at the beginning of our ceremonies. It is vital that it remain warm. Don't let it get cold. This is non-negotiable and essential for spiritual conductivity.
Our certified incantation specialists move through the sacred space uttering traditional phrases while distributing ceremonial glitter. The glitter represents the cosmic dust from which we all emerged and to which we shall return.
The Society for Spiritualism at Yale welcomes all members of the Yale community who approach our work with an open mind and a warm shell. We are particularly active during Early Action Days, when the veil between worlds is thinnest and pre-frosh are most spiritually receptive.
Our membership includes students from diverse backgrounds: lacrosse players, DKE fraternity members, hysterical girlfriends, and that one guy who always shows up with a fake ID asking where the nearest bar is. All are welcome in the circle.
"Either shut up and get in the circle or get out!"
We meet every Friday at 8:00 PM in various undergraduate suites across campus. Locations are announced via mysterious phone calls from doctors with thick Indian accents.
Bring your own shell. We'll provide the glitter.

Note: If you believe you have been the victim of a spiritual prank, please be aware that no one talks to a girl like that in our room. Get out! All of you!
